Nic Etheridge Calder

PCC, CPCC, MA in Leadership

I am originally from the east coast, now honoured to live and work on Treaty 7 land - traditional territories of Blackfoot and Métis people - now known as Calgary, Canada. People have been gathering for many years, where the Elbow & Bow River meet; as the water provides life. I always feel most alive when connected to nature, community and beside the ocean (and now these rivers).

For many years, I have been keenly enthusiastic about social change and progress. We are at a time in our world, where we are becoming increasingly conscious of our connections to each other and the planet. My focus as a leadership and resilience coach is about invoking the capacity we have (within self, teams and systems) for deepening awareness and bringing about transformation.

One day, I found myself in a coaching course. The opportunity kind of just fell in my lap after I completed my Masters program. As someone who’s been focused on leadership for some time, the skills and perspective of coaching felt like it fit perfectly into the puzzle. I found myself falling in love with the model and with the practice of coaching. I knew then, it was an important step for my career and life. I decided to start my own practice because I wanted to move more into work that opened up possibilities for people to be and lead differently in a world rapidly changing.

  • I love being creative and artistic. I like to paint when I can, craft with my kids, knit socks, and practice pottery when I have access to a studio! You’ll notice in my coaching that I’m pretty visual and love analogies.
